Beryl and Frank welcome you to Gentiana Golden Retrievers and hope you enjoy browsing the website. We are updating our website constantly so please keep in touch. We "all" live in an area of outstanding natural beauty on the shores of Morecambe Bay, 7 miles from the Cumbrian border and only 30 minutes from the beautiful Lake District or Yorkshire Dales.
The photos show both of us and our goldens over the past 25 years and may suggest to you the reason for our dedication to "Goldens." Above all, a wonderful temperament, a Golden Retriever is a "go-anywhere, do anything - always wanting to be with you kind of dog." The perfect companion.
We are not commercial breeders, and generally only breed when we want a puppy ourselves and endeavour to improve our line. Families wishing to obtain a Golden Retriever puppy from us usually have to wait, but this should not deter those who are dedicated to improving the breed. All of our dogs live with us in our home and are first and foremost our pets for life.
Our Affix - Gentiana - is derived from the name of one of our lovely girls - Gartraith Gentian Image at Gentiana - Genny as we call her, was born in the Spring and is as beautiful as the Alpine Spring flower - Gentian.
In our Image Gallery you will find photos of all our girls and boys and we take a great pleasure in exhibiting our dogs at all levels.
All our dogs have their Pet Passports and have travelled with us to France. If anyone would like advice on taking their dog(s) onto the Continent we would be pleased to give any advice we can.
Major and Tara at Kensington Palace Gardens - Sept 1997
We try to take our "goldens" everywhere we go. They are all very well travelled. Visitors to Kensington Palace Gardens loved to see our two beautiful dogs- an unusual sight in London.
